The following videos provide an introduction to using Steady Type.

Keys and Targets

With Steady Type you don't tap on keys to type. Instead you put your finger on a key, then drag to a target and lift your finger.

The target highlights in blue when your finger is in the right place. Let go and the letter will be typed.

Correcting Mistakes

If you accidentally put your finger on the wrong letter, just pick your finger up. Nothing will be typed, and you can try again.

Use the Background

You don't have to put your finger directly onto a key. You can put your finger on the background between keys, and then slide onto the key you want. Many people find this easier.

By looking at the keyboard you'll see when you've picked up the key you want. Then you can drag it to a target and lift your finger to type the letter.
